Daniel Ricciardo will join Williams in 2023, a few weeks after being dumped by McLaren in favor of Oscar Piastri. Ricciardo has signed a two-year contract with the team, and will partner Alexander Albon at the British outfit.
"I'm really happy to be joining Williams," said Ricciardo. "It's an iconic team with so much history in Formula One, and I'm proud to become a part of that. I can't wait to start working with everyone at Grove and hopefully we can achieve great things together."
Williams Team Principal Jost Capito added: "We're delighted to welcome Daniel to Williams. He brings with him a wealth of experience and is proven performer at the highest level having won eight grands prix during his career thus far."
Alexander Albon : "I'm really looking forward to working with Daniel. He's a great driver and I think we can learn a lot from each other. I think we'll be able to push each other hard and hopefully help the team move up the grid."

I think we'll be able to push each other hard and hopefully help the team move up the grid. It feels like Daniel and I have similar stories in a way, coming up through the ranks and then being given an opportunity by a top team only to be let go. We've been in the same boat... But we've both landed on our feet and now we're here at Williams together. I think we can really help each other out and hopefully take the team forward."
Ricciardo nods: "It definitely feels like there's unfinished business. I was only at McLaren for two years but it felt like home, and I really believed in the project. To be honest, I still do believe in the project, I just won't be a part of it anymore. It will be odd to line up against them on the grid but that just adds extra motivation. Hopefully we can have some good races and maybe even get a podium or two.
And about Red Bull... I think they know what they're missing! (laughs) But no, in all seriousness, I'm grateful for everything Red Bull did for me early in my career. I have some great memories with that team and some great friends there. But now it's time to move on and start a new chapter."

Bref ils ont l'air d'avoir une grosse amertume / d'être revanchard..
